Kempsey Shire’s Australia Day ambassador announced for 2021
A 35-year veteran with the NSW Police Force and former Deputy Commissioner has been announced as the Kempsey Shire’s Australia Day ambassador for 2021.
Dick Adams OAM will join Mayor Liz Campbell in attending the official Australia Day ceremony at the Slim Dusty Centre on Tuesday 26 January.
Cr Campbell said it was an honour to have Mr Adams as Kempsey’s Australia Day Ambassador.
“Mr Adams has excelled in his chosen field and has made significant contributions to Kempsey, NSW and Australia which is reflected by the number of awards and decorations he has received throughout his career,” Cr Campbell said.

Are You Getting Enough Rest? Did You Know There Are Seven Different Types?
We always talk about getting enough sleep. But a new article on Ted.com says there are actually SEVEN different types of rest we need. So are you getting enough of each one? Here are all seven, and what they mean . . .
1. Physical rest, either passive or active. Passive includes sleeping or napping. Active means things like getting a massage, doing yoga, meditating, or just laying around.
2. Mental rest. Letting your brain take a break is important too, especially if you work long hours. Ideally, you should take a mini-break every 20 minutes.

Secretary of State announces appointment of new Commissioner for Independent Commission for Location of Victims Remains
Rosalie has over two decades of experience of working at the heart of devolved government in Northern Ireland, including notable roles as Permanent Secretary at the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure and as Director of Executive Services in the Office of First Minister and deputy First Minister. Since her retirement in 2013 she has remained active in public life, including through her work as a Member of Independent Review Panel for the Assessment of Paramilitary Activity.
Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Brandon Lewis, said: “We are delighted that Rosalie Flanagan has accepted the post of Commissioner for the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims Remains. Rosalie brings a wealth of experience to this vital role.”

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (Act), includes relief
under tax-qualified ERISA retirement plans with respect to plan
loans and withdrawals for certain natural disasters in 2020 through
February 25, 2021.
